Grapevine Open Meeting 17th September – Milton Keynes
Aug 28th, 2009 by melonline

ONLINE NETWORKING PRESENTATION

Ed is a fan of Social Media. He advises on how this channel can be used in
modern marketing and as a vehicle for customer service.

You can find him Tweeting on Twitter, chatting on Facebook or networking on LinkedIN. As a speaker, he talks about what is happening on the web
and how it effects you, your business and your family. Fast moving, jargon free, and highly entertaining.

Presented by Ed Stivala, N3W Media.

Facebook the facts, you’d have to be a real Twitter not to be LinkedIN

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

The event is being held at David Lloyd Leisure, Milton Keynes

Holidays!
Aug 18th, 2009 by melonline

Is it just me or is everyone on holiday! Each call I make or email I send, I am greeted by voice mail or automated message.
I hear you say it’s the of year but I am here, why does it have to be my customers who go on holiday at the same time? Or am I getting paranoid?

I have a limited offer on digitally printed pens which expires on the 31st August 2009. If you are on a beach in Ibiza (or anywhere else for that matter) with nothing to do, why not ask for details!

Grapevine blog
Jul 30th, 2009 by melonline

Hi  Everyone

This is a blog I have been playing with over the last few months. As you can see you can write whatever you like and publish it. You can link it to your website for example, or link it to any social networking sites you belong to.

I have spoken to our potential guest speaker, Ed Stivali regarding an introduction into social networking and how it can benefit business. He is interest in doing a presentation, we just need to discuss dates etc.

You can add comments to this blog and let me know if you think it would benefit Grapevine to have one?

Cheers

Mel

Is the sunshine responsible?
Jun 1st, 2009 by melonline

Over the last week we have seen an increase in inquiries and orders, is the sunshine responsible? Or at last are we seeing the green shoots of recovery?

Probably neither as our level of business has been quite steady until about a month ago, therefore, that could have been just a slow month.

It is difficult to know what is what these days as the media can have such a massive effect on how businesses think and react!

How has your business fared over the last 12 months?

Business Link seminars
May 21st, 2009 by melonline

I attended a half day seminar recently run by Business Link, called Survive and Thrive. It was brilliant, the course was free of charge, run by two professional presenters from New Tricks Training!

They gave lots of sound advice and tips of how to raise your profile without large outlays of cash or time. It’s well worth contacting your local Business Link to see which seminars are available to you.

It’s refreshing that we can get help and advice like this when times are hard, well done Business Link!

I am all of a twitter!
Apr 3rd, 2009 by melonline

Well I have given it a go but as yet cannot see the point! I am following some famous people and some I know and respect but so far nothing has really convinced me it is worth the time and effort. I will admit some if the articles people link to are interesting, however, I can get that sort of info from a couple of business forums I belong to. A lot of the comments are inane and frankly boring.

I am doing something wrong or am I just a bit thick? Also I have sent direct messages, to people I know and not got a response.

Any feedback on this will be appreciated.

Netwalking – fit for business!
Mar 18th, 2009 by melonline

Recently we were asked by one of our customer’s if we would consider a joint venture. Peter Moorhead is a personal trainer and keep fit guru, who organises individual, group and corporate sessions to suit all levels of fitness. His latest venture is netwalking, which is exactly as it says on the tin, walking and networking!

At 12.30pm, once a week we assemble at a suitable location, which may be a pub, hotel or restaurant. Refreshments will available on arrival – tea, coffee, juice or water and a snack or meal on our return. The walk will be 40 minutes long, plenty of time to chat and network, whilst enjoying the fresh air and exercise!

If you are interested please contact us on 01908 675977 or visit Peter’s website for more information at www.celebratehf.co.uk

Come on you know it makes sense!

Stay positive!
Mar 6th, 2009 by melonline

Everyone is feeling the pinch right now. We have found that by staying positive and proactive, we are still attracting enquiries and orders. Are we just lucky, I don’t think so.

How you feel and behave is often projected when you speak or in your body language. In other words, if you sound upbeat and happy you are much more likely to attract and encourage business!

Also explore all the alternatives to develop your business. We recently entered into a strategic alliance with a health and fitness company which has benefits for both of us. All this is costing is our time, yet we are raising our profile and meeting many new contacts.

Breakfast Networking… why bother?
Dec 10th, 2008 by melonline

On a cold winter’s morning when all you want to do is turn over and go back to sleep, why bother! I attend two breakfast meetings most weeks, sometimes I do wonder why… until I get there!

Every time it’s worth it, not because of the referrals I may get, but because it’s stimulating, entertaining and often good fun. It never ceases to amaze me how alive and switched on people can be that early. The meeting of like minds, discussing problems or success stories, football results and of course potential business opportunities, it’s all there.

Then there is the new contacts you meet, often they become friends, customers or suppliers; the guest speakers and the knowledge they have to impart; the members’ 10 minute presentations, often we learn so much more about their business; the camaraderie and support, free advise…

Who I am trying to convince, of course it’s worth bothering!

Celebrating 25 years!
Dec 4th, 2008 by melonline

We are celebrating our 25th year in business…and what better way than doing something different and exciting! Creating a blog is a new experience for us, it will be interesting to see how it develops.

We have had a successful year despite the credit crunch! How has your year been, feel free to add your comments!
